Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS) announced today that the $200,000 Taylor Harris Triple Crown Challenge will return again next season.

Debuting this season, the Triple Crown Challenge offered a unique test with a spectacular $200,000 top prize for any show jumping rider that could put together back to back to back wins at three of the nation’s most prestigious grand prix events on the same horse.

McLain Ward won the $100,000 Wells Fargo Grand Prix of Devon, the inaugural event with Antares F, but missed out at a chance to continue the challenge when he failed to win the second leg, the $250,000 FTI Grand Prix & FEI World Cup™ Qualifier at the Hampton Classic. The third leg would have been contested at the $250,000 Alltech National Horse Show Grand Prix.

“Even though we didn’t have a winner this first year, we were very excited to offer the Triple Crown Challenge,” said Michael Taylor, the President of Taylor Harris Insurance Services. “It was well received by the riders, and we look forward to doing it again next season. Stay tuned though, we might have some very interesting news that will make the Taylor Harris Triple Crown Challenge even more exciting next year,” he said.

“Taylor Harris Insurance is proud of its 25 year history of recognizing and supporting excellence in equestrian sport. That’s why we chose a rider challenge and these three horse shows,” said Taylor.

Taylor Harris Chairman, William Weeks spoke earlier this year of the three shows involved in the Taylor Harris Triple Crown Challenge. “The Devon Horse Show, the Hampton Classic and the Alltech National Horse Show are the three top US horse shows as rated by the North American Riders Group (NARG), and over the years have always drawn the nation’s best horse and rider combinations. What better three events were there to debut the Taylor Harris Triple Crown Challenge?”
