Taylor Harris Insurance to Unveil Popular Taylor Harris Club at Inaugural Wellington Masters

Wellington, FL – December 4, 2015 – The organizers of the inaugural Wellington Masters, site of the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping Wellington, announced today that the highly popular Taylor Harris Club will be recreated for the event to be held at the beautiful Deeridge Farms in Wellington, Florida. The competition runs from Thursday, Feb. 4 – Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016.

The international show jumping event will feature one of only seven East Coast qualifying events in the Longines FEI World Cup™Jumping North American league. In addition to the qualifier, the event will offer additional classes for both junior and amateur riders. The Deeridge Farms event is one of the two final legs of the Longines FEI World Cup™Jumping North American League, which began in August of this year across seven East and seven West coast venues in three countries: United States, Mexico and Canada. The 14 host events of the Longines FEI World Cup™ Jumping North American League were selected after a rigorous screening process from a list of 25 applicants.
“It’s exciting to use our family’s farm to host the best event possible for the Longines FEI World Cup qualifier,” stated Charlie Jacobs when the selections were announced. “Part of creating a world-class experience is the hospitality. We are thrilled to have Taylor Harris not only supporting the show, but also providing the first-class hospitality with their popular Taylor Harris Club.”

“When we heard there was a strong possibility the World Cup qualifier was at risk, we wanted to do something to ensure it would stay here,” said Lou Jacobs. “It is important to the community, competitors and enthusiasts that we keep an event like this here. And now that the event is secured, we wanted to provide the utmost in comfort and hospitality for all our guests at Deeridge. The Taylor Harris Club will do just that.”

Taylor Harris Insurance Services has committed to provide and sponsor the beautiful club that will become the center for VIP hospitality throughout the week in February. Charlie and Lou Jacobs were instrumental in ensuring their vision which includes gourmet cuisine and elegant decor, provided by International Polo Club Catering powered by Aaron’s Catering of the Palm Beaches.

The Taylor Harris Club at the National Horse Show in Lexington, Kentucky, has met with rave reviews since its inception in 2011. Just last year at the FEI World Cup Las Vegas 2015, the Taylor Harris Club gained even more followers and was the talk of the Thomas and Mack Center for providing a fully immersive VIP hospitality experience during the finals.

“We are thrilled to join the Wellington Masters as the sponsor of the VIP Hospitality experience,” said Michael Taylor, the President of Taylor Harris Insurance Services. “We are excited to partner with the Wellington Masters for what is sure to be one of the best events of the season, and really bring a ‘Wow’ factor to attendees. We look forward to a week of brilliant competition, and an experience that everyone will remember for years to come.”

With a gorgeous, newly-designed, two-story enclosure with a bird’s eye view of the arena, the Taylor Harris Club at the Wellington Masters features ringside fine dining at the beautiful Deeridge Farms for an experience like no other. Access to the Taylor Harris Club at the Wellington Masters includes epicurean delights and sophisticated ambience and entrance to the equestrian competitions.

The magnificent setting couldn’t be more beautiful situated among 300 lush acres at one of Wellington’s most gorgeous estates. Stadium Jumping, Inc., the management team, along with the Jacobs family has designed the competition to showcase its most important feature – the horse – with a single, beautifully maintained grass grand prix field. “We look forward to our spectators and exhibitors enjoying the finest quality competition from the incredible views of the jumping field at the Taylor Harris Club,” said Michael Morrissey, president of Stadium Jumping, Inc.

VIP guests will be treated to an extraordinary ’boutique’ five-star experience, complete with first-class cuisine, beverage service and VIP preferred parking and amenities. This exclusive VIP hospitality reflects the care, attention to detail and dedication to equestrian sport that is embodied by the Jacobs family and Deeridge Farms.

Tables of six are $7,500 for the full competition. It is important to get your reservations in early as a complete sellout of the Taylor Harris Club is expected to happen quickly.

*Originally published on May 22, 2014 by The Chronicle of the Horse.

Middleburg, VA – May 22, 2014 – For the third consecutive year, Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS) is offering world-class riders $200,000 if they can win the $100,000 Grand Prix of Devon, the $250,000 Hampton Classic Grand Prix and the $250,000 National Horse Show Grand Prix. Riders must win each of these prestigious competitions on the same horse in the same year to claim their bonus.

“To offer the Triple Crown Challenge for the third consecutive year is exciting,” said Michael Taylor, the President of Taylor Harris Insurance Services. “Every year, we look forward to the Devon Horse Show, just a spectacular event in and of itself, to see who will be our rider to watch. This is our way of giving back to our customers and truly supporting and honoring the pursuit of excellence.”

“Taylor Harris Insurance is proud to support excellence in equestrian sport; that is why we continue to offer a rider reward for excellence and consistency. Winning three of the best US grand prix events is a testament to that excellence and the challenge cannot be won without it,” stated Bill Weeks, Taylor Harris Insurance Services, Chairman.

McLain Ward was last year’s contender for the Taylor Harris Triple Crown Challenge having won the Grand Prix of Devon aboard Rothchild. “It’s a great opportunity, and I think it’s a great perk. It’s a real challenge. To try to win three major classes with one horse like that is pretty hard to do, as we’ve seen. But if you can win the first one, there is always a chance! We’ll see what happens,” stated Ward.

In addition to the Rider Bonus, Taylor Harris has teamed up with ProEquest to offer a Triple Crown Fan Challenge through their Facebook pages. Fans can enter to win by naming the horse and rider combination they believe can take home all three titles and win prizes along the way at each competition. Like the Taylor Harris Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/TaylorHarrisInsuranceServices) to enter the Fan Challenge and get updates and inside information from ProEquest (https://www.facebook.com/ProEquest).

The first event in the Taylor Harris Triple Crown Challenge, the $100,000 Grand Prix of Devon takes place in Devon, Pennsylvania on Thursday, May 29, 2014. The $250,000 Hampton Classic Grand Prix is scheduled for Sunday, August 30, 2014 and the third jewel of the Triple Crown Challenge will be contested at the $250,000 National Horse Show Grand Prix on Saturday, November 1, 2014.

*Originally published on May 15, 2014 by Jennifer Wood Media.

Devon, PA – May 15, 2014 – The Devon Horse Show & Country Fair welcomes another year of world-class show jumping competition in the Dixon Oval, with open jumper competition beginning the evening of Tuesday, May 27, and continuing through Saturday, May 31. Devon will play host to the top show jumping riders in North America as they compete at one of the most historical and renowned shows in the United States.

The $100,000 Grand Prix of Devon also serves as the first leg of the $200,000 Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS) Triple Crown Challenge, which awards $200,000 to the rider who can master three of the East Coast’s toughest grand prix – the $100,000 Grand Prix of Devon, the $250,000 FTI Hampton Classic Grand Prix, and the $250,000 National Horse Show Grand Prix. The rider must win all three classes on the same horse within the same season.

Thursday, May 22, will be the first day of competition for Devon, which continues through Sunday, June 1. The Devon Horse Show hosts 11 days of top-tier competition across multiple breeds and disciplines, showcasing the best riders and horses in the country. Equitation, hunter, and jumper competitors must qualify for a coveted entry to Devon, which is awarded based on points accumulated at other top horse shows in the country.

Spectators will be treated to world-class show jumping, equitation, show hunter, driving, and American Saddlebred and Hackney divisions, with show jumping competition highlighted at the $100,000 Grand Prix of Devon taking place under the lights on Thursday, May 29. For those unable to attend the Devon Horse Show in person, they can still watch every single round of competition thanks to continuous live-streaming from the USEF Network from every class at Devon.

Live-streaming every round of every class is new for the 2014 show, and Devon show manager Peter Doubleday is thrilled for the show to be offering increased coverage.

Friends, family, and fans of the riders at Devon won’t have to miss a minute of the show thanks to our new, expanded broadcasting schedule with USEF Network. Devon is a show unlike any other, and we wanted to enable viewers to be able to experience Devon from wherever they may be,” said Doubleday.

McLain Ward, Olympic gold medalist and winner of the 2013 Grand Prix of Devon, will return in 2014 to defend his title with Rothchild and is looking forward to have another shot at the THIS Triple Crown Challenge.

“It’s a great opportunity, and I think it’s a great perk. It’s a real challenge. To try to win three major classes with one horse like that is pretty hard to do, as we’ve seen. But if you can win the first one, there is always a chance! We’ll see what happens,” Ward said.

Rothchild is fresh off a win at the Longines Global Champions Tour in Antwerp, Belgium, and will return to the show ring for the first time at Devon, a show that Ward makes sure to never miss.

“He goes well

[at Devon]. It’s an important event, and it’s a nice lead-up event to the Nations Cup in Spruce Meadows,” Ward, of Brewster, NY, explained. “I think it’s as good a crowd as anywhere in show jumping, just about anywhere in the world. They’re a horse-educated crowd, they understand the sport, they know what should and shouldn’t be happening. The atmosphere is phenomenal.”

Sydney Shulman of Greenwich, CT, is no stranger to the atmosphere at Devon, but 2014 will be the first year that she takes on the big names like Ward in the open jumper division. Shulman first started at Devon seven years ago in the Small Pony Hunter divisions and finished her last junior year there in 2013, where she showed across the junior jumper, equitation, and hunter divisions. 2014 will be her first year in the open jumpers with her horse Quidam 13.

“It’s one of my favorite shows,” Shulman noted. “I’m definitely not going in with as much confidence as I did when I was a junior. It’s a totally different ballgame, and I’m at the bottom of the heap now! I’m excited to do the bigger classes. My horse has never been to Devon before, so it will be good for him.”

Like Ward, Shulman also enjoys the impressive atmosphere of the Dixon Oval, the central attraction each year for competition.

“I love how it’s contained. It’s only focused on that main ring, which is nice. Luckily I’ve shown there enough that I know the ring. Doing the equitation there helped a lot because you have to use every aspect of the ring. I like more pressure, so when it’s one ring and everyone is watching, it’s fun,” Shulman described.

You can join in the jumper action at the Devon Horse Show by purchasing tickets at www.devonhorseshow.org. Don’t miss the country’s best show jumpers at this spectacular event!

Ward Heads to Hampton Classic – $200,000 Triple Crown Challenge Within Reach

August 27, 2013 – For the second consecutive year, two-time Olympic gold medalist McLain Ward of Brewster, NY, finds himself going into the $250,000 FTI Hampton Classic Grand Prix with the potential of winning the Taylor Harris Triple Crown Challenge. This unique challenge awards riders a $200,000 bonus should the same horse-and-rider combination win three of the country’s best grand prix events in the same year.

The first event was the $100,000 Wells Fargo Grand Prix of Devon held on May 30th. It was there that Ward won the first leg on Rothchild and now stands to take home the bonus should the pair win the remaining two events in the Challenge. The second event, the $250,000 FTI Hampton Classic Grand Prix will take place on September 1st at the Hampton Classic Horse Show in Bridgehampton, NY. Having won the Hampton Classic Grand Prix a record six times in his career it will be an exciting moment as Ward and Rothchild enter the grass arena.

Ward has been in this position before. Just last year, during the inaugural year of the Challenge, Ward had one leg of the challenge in the record books after collecting the blue at Devon on Antares F. But the pair couldn’t pull off the win at the Hampton Classic when Kent Farrington of Chicago, IL, came in on Voyeur and shut down Ward’s streak.

Although Ward didn’t lead the victory gallop in the $250,000 class he did win four major jumper classes in 2012.

If Ward can pull off a win and get another step closer to taking home the bonus, the final leg of the challenge will be the $250,000 Alltech Grand Prix, held on November 2nd at the Alltech National Horse Show in Lexington, KY.

“It’s exciting to watch someone like McLain Ward head into the second leg of the Challenge,” said Michael Taylor, the President of Taylor Harris Insurance Services. “Knowing he’s won the Hampton Classic Grand Prix six times in his career makes it all that much more possible to have him grab another leg of the Challenge. Taylor Harris Insurance is a proud supporter of equestrian sport and the excellence it requires to walk out with the blue ribbon. We are excited at the possibility of McLain emerging victorious in South Hampton and heading to the Alltech National Horse Show having won two legs of the Challenge.”

Taylor Harris Insurance Services (THIS) was founded in 1987 to provide specialized insurance for all types of equine risk including property and casualty. Taylor Harris works with their clients to ensure they are equipped with the insurance coverage that’s right for each individual case. THIS places all policies with the highest rated and most secure insurance carriers, which are also selected for their prompt and reliable claims settlement. Having won the Hampton Classic Grand Prix a record six times in his career, it will be an exciting moment as Ward and Rothchild enter the grass arena.

This year, show jumping fans can take part in the excitement of the THIS Triple Crown with the THIS Triple Crown Fan Challenge. Prior to the Grand Prix of Devon, fans were able to vote on who they predicted would win the first leg. When Ward clinched that victory, a fan who voted for Ward was randomly picked as that leg’s winner.

Now, with the second leg of the Challenge less than one week away, fans will be able to predict who will win at The Hamptons. Stay tuned to the Taylor Harris Facebook page for details on how to vote. The contest will open on Friday after the Grand Prix qualifier.

Winners will receive prizes from ProEquest and THIS, a Hampton Classic commemorative poster, as well as tickets to the Alltech National Horse Show this November!
